The wheels are turning...

Hi, my name is April.  I am the mother of three little monkeys and a dog named Nacho- at least he thinks I’m his mother.  My husband, children, dog and I all live in Costa Rica where we are missionaries.  I just love living here… most days.  On the days when I notice the parrots flying over head and the palm trees nodding in the breeze, then I love it here.  On the days when I notice the lunatic drivers and the pot holes big enough to swallow an SUV, then I don’t love it so much.  I’m human.  I’m also an artist, a missionary, a writer, a thinker, a teacher, a wannabe gourmet chef, a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend… not necessarily in that order.  I love my Lord Jesus, I love my life, I love my family and friends.  Nothing is perfect, but I’m happy and blessed.  Come read along with me as I verbalize my thoughts bubble.

  1. I love to read your posts, so I am sure the blog will do very well!!
Glad you had such a great time in MN for Christmas–Happy New Year!

  2. Hi, April,
Your dad told me about your blog, and I’m glad to add you to my RSS feed. My wife, Molly, and I started attending EPAG this year. We served in China for 4 1/2 years, and I so appreciate your “We love living here…most days” honesty. Your mention of being without water some weekends brings back (fond) memories, too. Blessings to you and your husband and kids. BTW, your husband might remember Molly from Cedar Valley days. She was Molly Serr back then.

  3. Hi, April!
My name is Anna and I am on the World Race. My team this month is looking for new ministry contacts in Costa Rica. I stumbled across your blog and have so many questions. What is your ministry? Does your team have a need for month-long volunteers? Do you know of any other ministries that are in need of volunteer teams?
